The Ballina Palms Motor Inn is located in the 'Far North Coast' region of NSW, alongside the Richmond River. We run a family business with 13 spacious ground floor units. We are located on a quiet street that is still within walking distance to the Ballina CBD. We are a short drive to Byron Bay, Lennox Head and Lismore.Our guests can choose from a range of accommodation including Double Rooms with Queen size beds, Twin Rooms and Family Rooms. We also have disabled access facilities available. All of our rooms are air conditioned and include a kitchenette. We have photocopying and fax facilities available for business travellers. Other guest facilities include a saltwater pool, barbeque area and laundry. Breakfast can be served to either your room or by the pool set in our tropical gardens.
Things to see and do in Ballina - Byron Bay
If you have an interest in 'Big Australia' then The Big Prawn is worth a stop, with an array of gift shops to entice the traveller. The main street of Ballina has a number of particularly attractive buildings, together with the beautiful Court House, which was built in 1867 there is the Post Office, the Naval Museum and the ever popular Maritime Museum. On the waterfront there is also the MV Florrie which was built at Brisbane Waters in 1880. Close by is Ballina's lighthouse, said to be one of the smallest lighthouses on the Australian coast. First established in 1866 and turned automatic in 1926.For a 'splashing' day out, try a fun filled day at the Ballina Pool and Waterslide together with the 'must see' Thursday Plantation located only five minutes from Ballina on the Pacific Highway. This unusual plantation focuses on Tea Tree products in the larger context of a theme park environment where there are rainforest walks and an annual dynamic Sculpture show with many entertaining activities to delight the whole family.
The beaches to the east of Ballina are exceptional. No visit to the area is complete without trying the surf at Lighthouse Beach, Shelly Beach and/or Angels Beach. Here the Pacific Ocean breaks on beautiful sandy beaches and there are nearly always ideal surfing conditions. Little further north you have Lennox Head, Broken Head and many surf beaches in Byron Bay.
